Big Hero 6 Movie Review

Title: Big Hero 6

Year: 2014

Time: 1hr 45min

Rating: 5/5

I know how some cartoon movies are said to have all their best scenes in the previews. This isn't the case for this movie. The clips on the preview, albeit very funny, were nothing compared to the scenes in the movie. I absolutely love Baymax! "Hairy Baby!" Ohmygosh this has to be the best Marvel movie I've seen all year!
Hiro (Ryan Potter) is a genious 14 year old boy who botfights in San Fransokyo until his brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) takes him to the labs at his college. He meets GoGo Tomago (Jamie Chung), Fred (T.J. Miller), Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.), Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez), and Professpr Robert Callaghan (James Cromwell). There he also meets Baymax (Scott Adsit), his brother's project, and realizes that he could actually use his brain the way he had always wanted to. To get in he has to compete against the best and brightest in a competition to come up with the best design to be able to get into the school.
Hiro creates microbots and wins the competition but when he and his brother are alone the university catches fire and Tadashi goes inside to try and save his professor. The building explodes and Hiro looses his brother.
Lost in a depression he almost reverts back to botfighting until he realizes that Baymax was in his home and hadn't gotten destroyed in the fire. Baymax finds a microbot and follows it to a warehouse while Hiro tries to talk him into coming back home. They are attacked by a man in a Kabuki who is controlling Hiro's microbots and so the battle begins. He and his band of scientists must come together and become heroes. Using their new "powers" they go after the man and Baymax is turned into a thoughtless killing machine when Hiro finds out who the masked man really is and changes his programming.
Needless to say, the bad guy got away but Hiro is shown what he needed to see by Baymax when they are alone. Then he and his team go after the man in the Kabuki mask.
Will they defeat the man in the Kabuki mask? What is the villain really after? Does Baymax make it out of this battle alive?
I absolutely loved this movie and am so sorry it took me so long to write this review...especially since I went to see it the day it came out. School has been busy and work isn't helping me get any writing done. Oh well! Go see this movie! You will not regret it! Oh and stay until after the credits because Stan Lee comes into play! I didn't expect there to be anything at the end but I was so wrong.

The Maze Runner Movie Review

Title: The Maze Runner

Year: 2014

Time: 1hr & 53min

Rating: 4/5

So I read the book that this movie is based on a long time ago and am pretty sure they changed a lot in the movie, some of which shouldn't have been changed.
Thomas (Dylan O'Brian) wakes up in the lift to find he has no recollection of anything but his name which comes back after a while. When he is pulled out he finds himself in the Glade surrounded by a bunch of other boys. Like him they know nothing about themselves other than their names. Every thirty days a new boy appears but Thomas is the beginning of something else. Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Chuck (Blake Cooper), Albi (Aml Ameen), and Minho (Ki-Hong Lee) all become his friends after he spends the night in the Maze, saving Minho and Albi by killing a Griever with Minho's help.
The very next day a girl, Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), appears in the shaft and doesn't know who she is or why she was sent there. Gally (Will Poulter) believes that she and Thomas are the beginning of the end of their lives and tries to get them banished into the Maze. The truth is that if they don't find a way out of the maze they will be killed by the Grievers who begin attacking when the Maze doesn't close like it is supposed to at night.
Thomas and a few others find out that the Grievers are machines that can be used to escape the maze and he could've at the time if the Maze hadn't reacted the way it had. Though the Maze is unsolvable Thomas is pretty sure he has figured a way out. After injecting himself with Griever venom he remembers some of his past the more he stays there the more he remembers. He knows he has seen the girl before. In fact it was with her help that he was able to build the maze for the people who sent them there. They were sent there to be tested!
Will Thomas be able to convince them to all escape the maze with him? Are they headed into a trap? What will they find if they make it out alive?
I honestly can't wait for the next movie to come out...if there is going to be another movie in the series. I still need to read the second book anyway. It is a really good movie and I hope you all agree once you see it.

Dracula Untold Movie Review

Title: Dracula Untold

Year: 2014

Time: 1hr & 32min

Rating: 5/5

After seeing the previews on TV and in the theatre I practically begged my father to take me to see the movie and he complied on the day it came out. I must say that I wasn't at all disappointed with the movie and desperately need to watch the original Bram Stoker's Dracula.
When I got home after this movie I was able to finish a book I had been writing fore months that is based on Dracula. There might be some spoilers in this post so if you want to see the movie with an open mind you might want to skip this. If you want to know, like I would, then read on by all means.
Vlad Tepes (Luke Evans) lives in peace with his wife Mirena (Sarah Gadon) and his son Ingeras (Art Parkinson). Unfortunately his time for peace and quiet are over when the Turks demand all the boys in the area for yet another war. Vlad refuses and kills the men who come to take his son. To protect his family he goes up into the mountains and into a cave where a true monster lurks. The monster Simion (Ronan Vibert) gives Vlad a choice...protect his family or die. Vlad obviously chose to protect his people and family so he drinks the vampires blood and has three days until the powers wane. There was a catch though, should he drink blood from a human he would remain a vampire forever.
His friend from the war Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) sends thousands of men to get the boys for the war and Vlad kills them all singlehandedly. Realizing that it wasn't safe in the castle anymore they go to the monastery up in the mountains. While his family and people traveled in the day he was forced to travel at night which almost led to his family being killed by some Turks who'd come after them.
Once they make it to the monastery everyone turns on Vlad when they realize what he was. His wife stood up for him and he prepared for the 100,000 troops, including Mehmed, that came after him. He killed many but while he was distracted the Turks threw his wife off of the balcony and he flew after her in a panic. Not being fast enough she lay dying only to tell him to drink her blood. Against his better judgment he does and creates an army out of his fallen comrades. He and his army go after Mehmed, who has Ingeras, and wreak havoc on the army.
Do he and his army of vampires win? What does he do with the uncontrollable vampires afterwards? Does his son make it out alive?
I honestly loved the ending because I wasn't expecting it. This is a tragic love story, which appeals to women, and has great battle scenes for the men. It was a great ending though and I hope you all go and see it. You will love it! :D

Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Review

Title: Guardians of the Galaxy

Year: 2014

Time: 2hrs & 2min

Rating: 4.5/5

So after work one day I talked my mom into going to see this movie with me since I'd heard great things about it from all of my friends. Even the woman we bought the tickets from said it was the best movie playing at the time. That was all it really took for my mom to finally agree to go see it with me.
Quin, or Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is taken from Earth after his mother died when he was young and was supposed to be taken to his father and yet the mercenaries had another idea. Now he is a thief who steals important artifacts to sell to the highest bidder. One such artifact is desired by another, Ronan (Lee Pace), who sends men to retrieve the orb.
When his men fail he sends his master Thanos's (Josh Brolin) daughter Gamora (Zoe Saldana) to get the orb from Quin only to be attacked by bounty hunters Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel). In an attempt to get the reward on Quin's head they start a fight that leads them all to be arrested and thrown in jail. There they meet Drax (Dave Bautista) who almost kills Gamora only to decide that he needs her alive in order to draw Ronan to the prison. He needs her alive in order to kill Ronan who killed his wife and child.
Groot and Rocket manage to find a way to break all of them out of prison and so their journey on Quin's ship begins. They travel to see Gamora's buyer in order to find out why the orb was so important. The Collector (Benicio Del Toro) tells them what is inside the orb and they all realize that the thing must never fall into Ronan's hands if they wanted the galaxy to survive.
Unfortunately Drax send word to Ronan and a fight breaks out in which Gamora and Quin are captured by Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker) who was the one to put the bounty on Quin's head. Instead of killing Quin they decided to go after Ronan, who had taken the orb, and save a planet.
A huge battle begins and  a lot of people die...Do the Guardians survive? Does Ronan destroy the planet and take over the universe? Who is Quin's real father?
Well unfortunately you don't find out the answer to the last question, which stinks, but it is still a great movie and you can't help but love Rocket! Everyone must see this movie!

Blended Movie

Title: Blended

Year: 2014

Time: 1hr 57min

Rating: 5/5

So I went to see this movie with a guy and I wasn't too hopeful since Adam Sandler is in the movie but I ended up loving it. And to top off my wonderful evening I was thrilled that my first date ever went so well. Who would've thought?
Jim (Adam Sandler) and Lauren (Drew Barrymore) go on their first date, to Hooters of all places! Needless to say, it goes horribly wrong and they end up fleeing from each other. Lauren organizes closets with her best friend Jen (Wendi Mclendon-Covey) and has two boys that she raises alone since her ex (Joel McHale) is never around. Jim works at Dick's Sporting Good and has three daughters that he is raising alone since his wife died of cancer.
A chance meeting leads them to have the same idea. They both plan a trip to Africa, not realizing that they are both going to be going there. They run into each other and immediately start fighting. Jim takes the boys; Brendan (Braxton Beckham) and Tyler (Kyle Red Silverstine), under his wing while Lauren does the same for the girls; Hilary(Bella Thorne), Espen (Emma Fuhrmann), Lou (Alyvia Alyn Lind). Together they have a wonderful vacation. Jim and Lauren even start to fall for one another but before things can go too far Jim pulls away and the vacation ends.
Jim tries to reconcile with her and try again but he runs into Mark (her ex) who tells him that Lauren and he are trying to make it work. As if! So he leaves and Lauren doesn't know why. Thankfully he shows up for Tyler's baseball game and they kiss. About time right!?
Well this is a definitely must see movie! I hope you take my advice and go see it with you boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, or a friend. It is a perfect couple's movie!

Song of the Moon Review

Title: Song of the Moon

Author: Catherine Banks

Book: (Artemis Lupine, #1)

Pages: 294

Rating: 5/5

So it was a tad bit slow at first but it sped up and I began to hate all the men in her life outside of her pack. Bret and Billy were total jerks! Agh!
Darren is Artemis's father and he takes her and Bret (her best friend) on a trip where they run into the man from her dreams. She has been having dreams of Ares for over a week and when they meet her father rips Artemis away and takes them back home. There they are able to sneak out and watch the news which her father specifically prohibited.
Artemis has one friend (Bret) but she realizes that he has feelings for her that are more than just friendly. Then Billy tries to make her fall for him but that doesn't turn out so well. Ares comes for her and takes her with him, Matt, and Koda (his pack). See they are werewolves, the ones from her dreams. They take her to a small village where Ares (her mate) begins to explain things to her but he keeps some things a secret. Bret gets turned into a werewolf and she finally shifts into her werewolf form. Which is good but once Victor (vampire) shows up and their emotions are being played with they leave and go back to her house to get a few things.
Then they go with Victor to Paris where they meet the Vampire King and she gets a strange vibe from him. Koda, Matt, Ares and her become a pack by sleeping (just sleeping) in the same bed together. But when she gets kidnapped by the Vampire Queen Isabella she discovers that she is part fey. Ares comes to save her and after thinks that he rejected her advances only to finally seal their bond as mates.
At the end they discover that Artemis is supposedly "engaged" to a fey they meet. What an interestingly open ending! It made me laugh so hard at the randomness of it!

Close Liaisons Review

Title: Close Liaisons

Author: Anna Zaires

Book: (The Krinar Chronicles, #1)

Pages: 318

Rating: 5/5

So I thought this book would be rather silly, and it was, don't get me wrong! But it was an amazing book full of new ideas! It has given me an idea on a new book to write too! How cool is that!? I can't wait to get my hands on the second book in the series!
Mia is just a normal college kid living with her best friend. After the world was taken over by the Krinar everything has gotten better and yet there are still pockets of people who are part of the resistance. Aliens are bad right?
She has never had an interest in the resistance or aliens for that matter until she meets Korum, an incredibly sexy Krinar who won't leave her alone. He always seems to turn up when she least expects it!
He takes her on dates and wants to control everything she does, much to her annoyance and she decides to help the resistance get any information she can to help them with their cause. He takes her virtue and so the challenge begins. Can she keep her heart or will she give it up to him?
As their time together gets more intense she will have to find the information before it is too late for the resistance. She loves him...will she be able to betray him? Yes, yes she will.
Does the resistance fall because of her information? Can the aliens leave peacefully for the sake of humanity or will there be another war? Will Korum give up Mia? Can Mia ever forget about Korum if he does leave?
I know the synopsys I wrote isn't very long...but it is much better to read the book than to go on my word that the book is good. It is! I am a writer, I just can't come up with any words that will do this book any justice! :D Hope you read and enjoy the book!

So cool! You wouldn't believe my luck!

So Monday brought storms and tornadoes but yet my dad and I still had to drive up to Nashville to pick my mom up from the airport. It was a long boring trip but when we got there I saw someone I never thought I'd actually meet! Sure I didn't remember his name but what the hell! I knew he was from American Idol so I took a picture of him from a distance. He looked up just as I took the picture so I turned tail and headed the opposite direction.
Then for the hell of it, (and knowing I would regret it if I didn't) I walked up to him and began to talk to him.
"I know this might sound weird, but were you on American Idol?" I asked him.
"Yes."
"What's your name?" I asked in embarrassment.
"Colton." he replied.
Then we talked for a minute and I went back to sit down only to go back over to him and ask if I could get a picture with him. He said sure and since my dad wouldn't get up to take the picture I did it myself! My hands were shaking so badly! I felt so pathetic!
So I sat back down and made my friend look up his name since I still didn't remember his last name and she replied immediately. Ahh! Colton Dixon! I met Colton Dixon at the Nashville Airport people! How amazing is that?!
So now I'm sitting at school listening to his music on YouTube and wondering how I haven't heard of him since American Idol! He's a wonderful singer! Gah! That has to be the best thing that has happened to me all week! I am still mad at myself that the pictures I took were so blurry!
Gosh I look like an idiot in these pictures...I am not photogenic!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Title: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Year: 2014

Movie: (Captain America, #2)

Time: 2hrs 26min

Rating: 5/5

So I was dying to see this movie so I dragged my dad along with me on Sunday to go see the movie after shopping around the mall. I got two new pair of shoes! So happy! Well we went to the movie theatre and I swear the previews lasted a good twenty minutes but they were sooooo worth it! The movie was fantastic!

SPOILER ALERTS!!!

Captain America (Chris Evans) has been working for S.H.I.E.L.D since the attack on New York and the movie starts out with him, his men, and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson). Once the mission is completed Steve finds out there was an ulterior motive for raiding the ship. When Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is attacked he turns to Steve for helps and tells him not to trust anyone. Then he is killed in Steve's apartment by the Winter Soldier. Or is he?
Steve is blamed for his death (or something or other) by Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) and has to go on the run with Natasha who is the only one he can trust. With everyone trying to kill them they have to turn to a friend of Steve's, Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon (Anthony Mackie). They learn that Hydra is still running their operations and has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D and is planning on killing anyone who stands the risk of turning against them. That's millions of people guys!!
Steve never thought that the Winter Soldier could be someone he knows...and yet he is. It's Bucky (Sebastian Stan)! The same one believed to be killed on a mission over seventy years ago. Bucky doesn't remember Steve at all (thanks to brainwashing) and tries to kill Steve, Natasha, and Sam. The tree of them are captures by S.H.I.E.L.D, AKA Hydra, and Agent Hill (Cobie Smulders) breaks them out and takes them someplace safe. The very same place Nick Fury has been hiding out while he healed.
Now it is up to all of them to reprogram the three ships to destroy one another instead of the general population...including Stark (who isn't shown in the movie). Falcon disables one, Steve another, and Natasha and Fury take on Alexander Pierce.
Steve makes it to the third ship but can he reprogram it in time? Bucky is there...will he kill Steve? His own friend? Will millions of people be killed? If Bucky can't remember...will they both die as a consequence of a mad doctor's work?
This movie was brilliant! Agh! My friend told me to stay until the end and yet she didn't! People! Stay until the END of the credits! Not the end of the movie! THE. END. OF. THE. CREDITS! Oh and Emily VanCamp, the girl from the TV show Revenge, is in the movie playing Agent 13, AKA Kate or his neighbor! Hope you enjoy the movie!

Flight Review

Title: Flight

Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy

Book: (The Crescent Chronicles, #1)

Pages: 268

Rating: 5/5

So the cover of the book is a bit weird since the guy's face looks kind of squashed but the book was amazing! I loved it and kind of want to visit New Orleans now...still a dangerous city but it sounds fun in this book. Honestly didn't expect this much from a free book that I got on my Kindle...
Allie and her friend Jess go to New Orleans because Allie's dad has offered them a job working at his hotel there. Needless to say that her father is loaded. There she encounters Levi and his band of friends. Jess makes a mistake with one of them and goes home as fast as she could leaving Allie with Levi.
They know it is just a summer romance but they plan to make the best of it even if Levi isn't entirely human. He is a type of shifter and his ancestors could turn into crows but now they are only able to sprout rather large wings. Though Allie has sworn off guys she can't help but fall for him. Turns out there are all kinds of things lurking in New Orleans; vampires, werewolves, etc.
One night a few weeks before she is to return home Levi gives her a ring but he doesn't tell her what it means. They go to bed together and when he leaves and she meets with a friend who tells her its true meaning, and panics. She makes an unfortunate mistake and is captured by werecougars (or something like that) who want to sell her off to the highest bidder. After all she is now Levi's mate, and he can only have one.
Will she get back safely to New Orleans? Does she have to remain there with Levi or risk the consequences of leaving? Will she be able to love Levi after this unforgivable betrayal?
So freaking awesome! Unfortunately I can't seem to get on Amazon to buy the second... and third one, though I barely have enough to buy the second one. I so can't wait to get it! :D

Dorothy Must Die Review

Title: Dorothy Must Die

Author: Danielle Paige

Book: (Dorothy Must Die, #1)

Pages: 452

Rating: 5/5

So I picked up this book in WalMart and read the synopsis knowing immediately that I had to have it. I began to read it the same night and I couldn't put it down! Even when I tried to go to sleep I found that I could not stop thinking about it! The book was that good!
Amy Gumm has a less than average life with her mom. She lives in a trailer and everyone at school calls her 'Salvation Army' because that is where she gets her clothes. Having no friends and a druggie for a mom doesn't do much to help Amy's situation. On the night of the tornado her mom leaves her all alone with Star (her mom's rat) to go out partying with her current boyfriend. Tornadoes never come near their home but tonight it does and when Amy comes to, she and Star are in Oz being saved by a mysterious boy.
Once again on her own she meets Indigo and saves a wingless monkey (Ollie) from his punishment for Sass. The Tin Man catches up to them with some of his soldiers and though Ollie manages to escape Indigo is killed while Amy is taken to the Emerald City. There she meets Dorothy (who is pure evil) and is to be tried in a week. She manages to escape with the help one of the witches from the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked.
Their one goal? To kill Dorothy. Who do they expect to do the deed? Amy.
With their help she finds that the Good are Wicked and the Wicked are Good. Or are they? They teach Amy to use magic and then she goes up against the Lion. One of the witches dies in order to give them a chance to kill the Lion but Amy hesitates a second too long and he escapes. Now she has to infiltrate the palace and get close to Dorothy by pretending to be someone else. A maid.
She gets close a few times but she almost blows her cover when she has to save Ollie's sister from the Scarecrow who has been preforming the cruelest of tests on her. To get away Amy has to cut off the monkeys wings and then Amy has to hide all the evidence of her involvement. One of the other maids takes the blame and Amy is in the clear to kill Dorothy when the ball comes around. She manages to blow her chance again and the Tin Man comes after her.
Can she do what is needed to kill Dorothy? Is what the Wizard told her true? Does the Tin Man kill Amy? Or does Amy take his heart?
Ohmygoodness I loved this book so much! I cannot wait until the second book comes out! She must take the Tin Man's heart, the Scarecrows brain, and the Lion's courage! How cool it that!? At least the ending of the book isn't too much of a cliffhanger. I hate books that leave it unfinished but Danielle Paige wrote a great ending and I can't wait to read more!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Review

Title: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Author: J.K. Rowling

Book: (Harry Potter, #7)

Pages: 759

Rating: 5/5

So after finishing the sixth book I immediately picked up the seventh one and started reading knowing I wouldn't be able to read anything else until I finished the series. I can never concentrate on another book when I have all the books in the series. It's probably just me that does that...I loved the way the author finished the series! Great ending to a great series!
Harry Potter is about to turn seventeen and now the Dursleys are in danger. So they leave Harry behind to go into hiding where they will have no further contact with him. Harry leaves with Hagrid while the other wizards (Hermione, Fred, George, Ron, Bill, Mad-Eye Moody, etc.) try to confuse the Death Eaters by looking like Harry. What they weren't expecting was for someone to betray them and give You-Know-Who the date of their departure. Harry and Hagrid make it to the destination narrowly avoiding being killed by You-Know-Who. They reach the Weasleys house safely but Mad-Eye is killed in the battle. :O
When the Ministry of Magic is taken over by You-Know-Who, Harry, Hermione, and Ron go on the run since Harry is wanted for killing Dumbledore. (Who on earth would think Harry killed Dumbledore??) They break into the Ministry and steal part of You-Know-Who's soul from Umbridge. (Yikes!) Luckily they get away and disappear from London when their hideout is discovered. Now that they have part of the soul they have to discover a way to destroy it.
So they go around finding and killing parts of You-Know-Who's soul. When You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters attack the school it is up to Harry to stop Tom Riddle.
Will Harry survive? Will he give his life to kill You-Know-Who? Or will Voldemort destroy everything Harry loves?
Loved the book! It really was a great ending to the book! I mean everyone probably guessed the ending before reading the book since if it ended badly the book would be terrible! It had to end this way though I hated that a few of my favourite characters died D': Oh well that's just how it was written.

Hope Review

Title: Hope

Author: Sam Rook

Book: (The Knights of Av'lor Book One)

Pages: 302

Rating: 4/5

So it starts out a bit differently but I really liked the characters though some of them had no role in the book besides being bad. I mean the main characters were almost killed by him but they never actually met so I am a bit disappointed that there isn't going to be a second book. I hate stories that have an open ending. Well there might be another book but not for a while.
Kathryn (Kate) has just lost her mother and daughter but now she is unexpectedly thrown into another world (Av'lor) filled with Deamons. She meets Hal (also a human from Earth) and almost dies only to wake up inside a castle filled with knights that have wings. Angels? No, but they aren't evil either. In fact they protect Av'lor from monsters.
Kate has the Sight, which means she can see the future, and having that she manages to save lives. As a reward she asks that she and Hal be given a chance to join the Knighthood. Since she is very powerful when it comes to magic she makes it in and so does Hal, though he gets in because of his swordsmanship. Sir Lanclor is her instructor but she feels drawn to him and he to her but he knows he can't do anything about it. On the one night they can change who they are he sleeps with her and realizes that he truly loves her. But what can he do about it?
Together they continue to try and find a spell to win the war but their time is growing short. Now it is up to Kate to win the war and save the man she loves.
Will the portal be destroyed? Will her Sight of Lanclor dying be wrong? How will she prevent it? Will she survive the outcome?
So I didn't cry at the end because it would've been a terrible ending. No I cried when I thought Hal was going to loose one of his wings. Go figure. I did enjoy this book and I hope you will read it too!

Ender's Game Movie Review

Title: Ender's Game

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 54min

Rating: 5/5

This movie is so much more entertaining than the book! That's my opinion anyway since I didn't care for the book. My sister loves them both though...thanks to her I got to see the movie! Thanks sis! I loved the movie even if it was a little weir and a bit too graphic in some places.
Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) gets thrown out of school (or so he thinks) so when he is attacked by the mean kids in school he has nothing to lose. After he wins the man who has been watching him, Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford), decides that he is ready to join in the battle against the Formics. The Formics that almost destroyed the Earth in a previous invasion. Even in a school full of gifted kids he is the odd man out. The only few people who like him are Bean (Aramis Knight), Alai (Suraj Partha), Petra (Hailee Steinfeld), and a few others.
He gets moved up in the ranks to a place where he is loathed by the team leader. Even after he wins the battle against the other team the leader wants nothing more than to destroy him. Eventually the leader, Bonzo (Moises Arias), corners him in the shower and tries to kill him only to have Ender win against him.
Ender refuses to go on until he get to see his sister, Valentine Wiggin (Abigail Breslin), one more time. They allow him to since he threatened to quit. He talks to her and realizes that he was made for this. He was made to fight and defend against the Formics.
He becomes the captain of his own crew (simulation...or so he thinks) with his friends as his mates and begins to fight Formics. After destroying the Formics home planet he learns that what he just did wasn't a simulation...it was very real. He breaks down because he doesn't believe that they were evil or wanted to destroy the Earth at all. They just wanted to meet and learn from us but humans didn't even give them a chance.
Are all the Formics dead? Will Ender ever come to terms with destroying a whole species? Does he figure something out that he should've realized a long time ago?
Ohhhhhh I don't remember the end of the book so I can't really compare them! Not fair that everyone is just fine and dandy after killing off an entire species! At least Ender (the person who rarely shows emotions) breaks down when he finds out what he did! Humans are awful when it comes to things we don't understand...aren't we? I hope one day we might change for the better but until that day I just have to hope if something come up we don't shoot first and ask questions later...it could be a disaster if we do.

The Pirate's Curse Review

Title: The Pirate's Curse

Author: M.L. Guida

Book: (Legends of the Soaring Phoenix, #1)

Pages: 326

Rating: 4/5

This book is much better than I thought it would be which made me so happy. It was a free book on Kindle and I am so glad that I got it! Read this book! So good!
Hannah and her father find themselves in the ocean when their ship is attacked by vampires and the crew is murdered. Their only chance at survival is the ship comming their way. The vampires want both her and her father but she has no idea why.
Kane is the Captain of the Soaring Phoenix and rescues them from his rival. He thinks Hannah is a man until...(you'll just have to read it to find out!) and when he realizes that she is a girl he treats her better. On the other hand he hates her father who because of what he does to Hannah to keep her controlled.
See Hannah has powers (but she's not a witch) and Kane hates her because he fears she is a witch. He learns more about her and discovers that she is not a witch after all. She and Kane's brother grow close (she only sees him as a friend) and she learns what the pirates aboard the Soaring Phoenix are...they're vampires! She tries to kill Kane with her powers (on accident) and regrets it as soon as he falls to the floor. He had scared her and she'd reacted in order to protect herself.
He cares for her though he tries not to show it until he and the crew are about to reach the destination where they will leave Hannah and her father. Taking her to bed he loves her all night only to turn cold in the morning so that it will be easier for him to leave her behind. She is to be married to another man and he knows it is best to leave her be.
Hannah meets the man she is to marry and want to run as fast as she can back to the Soaring Phoenix and into Kane's arms. Her fiancé is cruel and wants nothing more than to have her in his bed for the rest of her life. He hurts her and takes her to his home where he tortures and almost burns a slave to death until she uses her powers to save the slave. Not that it matters because he just shoots the slave just when Kane shows up in the field.
Kane has to run but he comes back for Hannah who manages to get away from her fiancé only to get recaptured. So is Kane, but he gets tortured while she almost gets raped until more of his crew shows up and gets them both back on the ship. Kane's rival shows up and there is an epic battle between the two vampire ships which leads to Kane's brother being turned into a vampire.
Will Hannah be able to stay with Kane? Which ship will make it out in one piece? Will Hannah be safe from the pirates and her fiancé?
Ok so the synopsis might be long and sound a bit dull but please read this book! It really is worth it and I so can't wait until the second book comes out! I don't know when it comes out though!!!!

Winter's Tale Movie Review

Title: Winter's Tale

Year: 2014

Time: 1hr 58min

Rating: 4.5/5

I honestly expected to cry throughout the whole movie since I was in tears just watching the previews for it on TV. I was both relieved and disapointed that I didn't, though when I looked over I found my dad was in tears. Hahaha! XD I loved the movie a lot and it was a very unique concept. We saw it for Valentine's Day and I am glad we did though I wanted to go see I, Frankenstein. Whatever! I enjoyed myself! I will have to go see the other movie on my own...
Peter Lake (Colin Farrell) is a thief who is being hunted down by his old boss Pearly (Russell Crowe), who is also a demon. He is saved by a white horse that somehow managed to do the impossible. Peter breaks into a house and meets Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay), a woman that is very sick. If she gets hot she will die and despite her terrible condition Peter falls for her and she for him.
They only get one night together since Pearly manages to slip some poison to Beverly even though he isn't allowed to cross the boundary line. She dies and Peter faces Pearly after not being able to save her. It is supposed to end for Peter when the horse flies away (he's a messenger from God or something) and Pearly throws him over the bridge. Yet he wakes up with no memory of who he is or what he has lost.
Many (many, like a 100!) years later Peter is still alive and looking just like he did before he was supposedly killed. He still has a miracle to use and Pearly is determined not to let him use it. Beverly used her miracle to keep Peter alive for this purpose...to save a little girls life.
Virginia Gamely (Jennifer Connolly) is a writer with a very sick daughter, Abby (Ripley Sobo), who is dying. Peter meets them and she helps him remember who he was. He meets people from his past and knows exactly how to save Abby. Pearly won't just let him save her life though...no, he works for Lucifer (who I believe is Will Smith) who makes him human so that he can kill Peter without upsetting the balance of good and evil.
Will Pearly kill Peter, the boy he raised? Will the horse come back and help them get to where they need to go? Did Beverly die in vain? Will Peter be able to use his miracle to save Abby?
I loved this movie though I kind of wanted it to end differently. Like...he saved Abby and went back to the past and lived happily-ever-after with Beverly. Crazy notion...but why not? The whole movie is kind of out there. Jeez just watching Pearly's face when he gets mad! *shiver* All in all it is a must watch so get your bum to the movie theatre and enjoy.

Last Kiss Goodnight Review

Title: Last Kiss Goodnight

Author: Gena Showalter

Book: (An Otherworld Assassin Novel, #1)

Pages: 436

Rating: 5/5

So this wasn't one of the free books I got on my Kindle but it was so worth it! I mean this book was so amazing I couldn't put it down...well I had to when I went to work. I must admit I wasn't too happy about putting it down though.
Solo is an otherworlder. He works with men like himself to hunt down and kill bad men who would destroy others. So though he might not consider himself a good man he doesn't consider himself a bad man either. Despite the fact that when he is angry he turns into a monster (literally). When he and his friends are (for lack of a better word) ambushed he is sold to a zoo. Not just any zoo. A zoo filled with otherworlders of different species. There he is drugged and stuck in a cage. His only hope is the girl who feeds and takes care of them. He just needs to figure out how to get her to let him go.
Vika has lived with her father (the man who runs the circus/zoo) and has lived with his abuse since her mother fled with another man. Now she does the only thing she can for the otherworlders, which is too feed and clean them. What else can she do when she can't find the keys to the cuffs which keep the prisoners drugged up? But when she sees Solo she knows he is different and longs to know more about him. If only she could hear what he was saying when she wasn't looking. After all her father had taken away her hearing when she helped the otherworlders escape the first time. Now she has to think through, has to plan, has to make sure everything goes as planned.
Solo falls hard for her and they plan to run away together...only to get caught. Then another man decides he's had enough and demands that Vika marry him. She declines and is almost killed by his hands. Then she is locked up with Solo as they travel between worlds. Then when they do manage to escape he shows her what it is to be loved for the first time in years. But all too soon their romance ends when Vika's father finds them and drags them back to the circus where he is determined for Solo to watch his daughter suffer and she him.
What will happen to Vika? Will Solo be able to remove the cuffs a second time? Will the other otherworlders manage to escape? Does the evil of the circus burn to the ground?
Man I loved this book and almost cried at the end but held onto my hope for a happy ending. I wasn't disappointed and I must say that this is one of my favorite books now!

Ignite Me Review

Title: Ignite Me

Author: Tahereh Mafi

Book: (Shatter Me, #3)

Pages: 408

Rating: 5/5

So in preparation for this book I reread Shatter Me and Unravel Me only to finally get the book and stop reading Unravel Me before I could finish. It was hard to read them since I had the ACT coming up and I had to study for it. Anyway I got the book and ohmysweetgoodness I loved it! I was expecting her to die, even for Warner or Adam to die. Nope! So happy that I was proven wrong! I almost had a panic attack when I thought about this book...
Juliette is supposed to be dead, after all Anderson shot her in the last book, but Warner saved her and took her back to the compound. Omega Point is gone and everyone she knew is believed to be dead but she needs to know for sure. Warner takes her to the site and she finds Kenji there searching for others, just like her. Warner allows her to go with him and so Kenji takes her to their safe house. Adam's home.
Turns out Adam, James (Adam's brother), Kenji, Castle, and a few others made it out alive. Now Adam is happy she is alive but that love turns to hate when he finds out that she has been staying with Warner. That she now trusts everything Warner tells her. Why shouldn't she? He saved her...and he loves her more than Adam ever could, because he understands her. Because he believes in her.
Now it is up to her to gather them all together and begin a new war. One with her in charge. One that she has to win. So now Warner is letting all of them stay safely hidden away in a private room on base where no one can find them. He lets them do whatever they want but no one but Kenji and Juliette know why. Everyone else is blind to the way Waren and Juliette look at each other. Even Juliette isn't sure about her feelings towards Warner. Does she truly love him? It's a fact that she doesn't love Adam. After all he is a selfish jerk who doesn't give a damn that she isn't the same as she used to be. He wants her to be quiet and pathetic. Warner wants her to be herself.
After she rallies all of the troops to her side it is now up to her and Kenji to kill Anderson (who is on a ship) and save the twins, while everyone else is fighting his men. Before any of that happens, though, she professes her love for Warner. YAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! (I swear I laughed, jumped, and shouted for joy when that happened! XD)
Will she be able to face Anderson's secret weapon? Will they make it off the ship in one piece? Will the base even still be there when they get back? Will Warner be there waiting for her?
Agh I love the end! I was so happy that I got to finish the series since my friend will not be reading it. After all she is a team Adam fan. :D Me? I've always loved Warner!

Blood Red Road Review

Title: Blood Red Road

Author: Moira Young

Book: (Dust Lands, #1)

Pages: 459

Rating: 5/5

So since I've been spending most of my time reading on my Kindle I never thought I'd be able to pick up a book. I am sure glad I did because this book is intense and weird. I like it though it doesn't have "quotation marks" around what is being said, which I find super annoying. In most cases I won't write in a book, but I made an exception so I could put the quotes around sentences.
Saba, Lugh, Emmie and their father all live together in Silverlake where the food comes few and far between while the water level drops. There is no one for miles and miles but one day four men come, take Lugh, and kill Pa, leaving Saba to take care of the sister she loathes. She heads out to find Lugh, planning to leave Emmie behind with a neighbor, but Emmie just comes after her.
They are kidnapped by some wicked people who force Saba to cage fight in Hopetown. The worst place to be. There she becomes known as the Angel of Death, for she never loses a match. That is, not until someone comes and forms a plan. Now she has to lose three matches and run the gauntlet where she will hopefully be able to escape into the crowd.
The King catches onto the plot and plans to ruin everything but Saba manages to escape and helps the other prisoners escape too. Including Jack, who she risks her life to save though she doesn't know why. Now she is with the female group the Free Hawks and about to journey with Emmie and Jack to Freedom Fields where they are keeping Lugh.
They make it there after encountering the Wurms and safely make it inside the compound. There they realize that the Kind is still alive. How? Saba saw him die! XD After getting Lugh safely out of there they go to meet up with Tommo and Emmie but discover Emmie has been taken. Now they set up a defense and wait for the King and his men to come for them.
Will they make their last stand? Will the Free Hawks come to the rescue? Who wins in the end?
I loved the book and one of the characters (DeMalo) even though I think he's in all of five pages throughout the book. So sad! Agh I hate that I am once again in love with a fictional character!

Frozen Review

Title: Frozen

Authors: Melissa de la Cruz & Michael Johnston

Book: (Heart of Dread, #1)

Pages: 336

Rating: 5/5

Ohmysweetgoodness this was an absolutelly brilliant book! I mean I was laughing and scowling...and giggling, which is so unlike me! I loved this book so much and you must MUST read it!
Nat is marked but she wears contacts to conceal what she is as she works for a casino as a blackjack dealer. Pretty sweet gig till she realized that the stone another coworker gave her is dangerous in the wrong hands. When that coworker is killed she knows she must flee or risk sharing the same fate.
So she enlist the help of Wes and his men to get her over the fence and to 'the Blue'. They don't know that is where she is heading but they suspect since it is everyone's dream to find 'the Blue', but it's just a myth. No one actually believes in it anymore.
Together they encounter hunters, polarbears, soldiers, Thrillers, and pirates, only to evade capture each time. Nat and Wes begin to grow attached even after he discovers she is marked. (Awww how sweet!) They meet some people who were stranded in a sinking ship and one of them is marked while the other are smallmen (no joke, that's what they call them!).
When pirates capture them all they are forced into cells to await the auction block. Wes and Nat form a plan but when the captain of the ship learns the way to the Blue it is up to Nat to stop him. After all it was what she was born to do.
Will she be able to come to grips with what she is? Who will suffer in the end? What will happen to Nat and Wes? Will they really reach the Blue?
Ahhh I loved it and though I pretty much guessed what was going to happen I still enjoyed myself! It is a must read! No joke! Bohobooknerd you had better read this book and get back to me! :D

The Dark God's Bride Trilogy, #1 Review

Title: The Dark God's Bride

Author: Dahlia L. Summers

Book: (The Dark God's Bride, #1)

Pages: 210

Rating: 5/5

This was a free book and I must say that after reading this that I am now hooked. I have now fallen madly in love with an evil fictional character. This was a brilliantly written book and though the other two books weren't free I didn't mind at all they were worth it!
Amara has friends and a mother who cares deeply about her. Oh yeah her friends are demons and her foster mother is Lucifer's immortal bride. She has everything that she's ever wanted but the one thing that she can't contain is her curiosity.
Noctis (AKA Summit but prefers Noctis) has been trapped in darkness for a very long time and now he's out and seeking revenge on the one who put him there. Lucifer. Wanting to make him pay he tries to kidnap what he thinks is Lucifer's mortal bride Kali. Instead he takes Amara by accident.
She keeps up the charade to protect the only woman who ever took care of her and though she is scared of him she can't help her nature to fight. He tries and tries to scare her into submission but nothing he throws at her scares her. He likes the little mortal for her courage more than he wants. Still he believes that she is Kali so therefore she is off limits for him.
Amara manages to escape twice but he always seems to find her so her foster brother's other half (Lana) tries to save her only to be thwarted by Noctis who takes her to the realm of Heaven (or something akin to that). When she almost dies he saves her. She doesn't mean to but they end up...you know...together. (*cough*sex*cough*). That is when he discovers that she isn't who she claims to be doesn't upset him. What does is when she flees with Lana to safety because she fears for her life.
Him trying to track her down pretty much sums up the end of the book but of course since there is a second...and a third book you know the story has to go on. Thank goodness! :D Give it a read!

My Boyfriend Merlin Review

Title: My Boyfriend Merlin

Author: Priya Ardis

Book: (My Merlin, #1)

Pages: 305

Rating: 4.5/5

Seriously my expectations for this book were not that high but I was happy to find that it really was a great book! I loved it so much despite the love triangle with the two brothers and the girl (Ryan).
Ryan has had a hectic life. First her mother dies and now she has just lost her soon to be sister to a dragon. The only reason she survives is because of Matt (she has a major crush on him) turns out to be a wizard. So now she is still an orphan and her soon to be brother are in danger from gargoyles.
The one thing in a string of messed up stuff. A stone with a sword falls out of the sky, a dragon attack, wizards, and gargoyles that can take the form of humans. Now she and her almost brother Grey are taken, along with other candidates, to England where they will learn to deffend themselves against magic. She also discovers that Matt is the Merlin from stories. The one who helped King Arthur. Why didn't he tell her sooner??? When someone tries and fails to kill Ryan she and Vane (Matt/Merlin's brother) hatch a plan that goes wrong and threatens to kill many of the other candidates.
They all make it out safely but now the true test begins when they are taken to the stone so they can attempt to pull Excallibur free. The candidates (even the gargoyle candidates) are sucked into another dimmension and it is up to Ryan to figure out how to get out. When she does she quickly realizes that she has to remain behind. She does so willingly though she is giving up the love she holds for both Merlin and Vane.
Can she pull the sword from the stone? At what cost to herself? Will the war rage on? Do the traitors face punishment? Who will conquer?
Dramatic much? I thought so too but i couldn't help myself...the book was free! What was I supposed to do? NOT read it? Are you out of your mind?! I really did enjoy this book though the title still makes me laugh.

About The Author

I love books of all kinds—but especially the gooey ones that make your nose leak and let your latte go cold. My writing comes from a childhood of playing too much She-Ra and watching too much Spock and reading way too much fairy-tales, fantasies, detective stories, romances... the list goes on. (When Belle gasped at the library the Beast gave her, so did I! Color me with library envy.) I started penning my first book at sixteen, writing in long notebooks on train rides in India. A hopeless romantic, I'm also a longtime member of RWA (Romance Writer's of America).

Accidentally In Love With...A God? Review

Title: Accidentally In Love With...A God?

Author: Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Book: (Accidentally Yours, #1)

Pages: 294

Rating: 5/5

Even though I had to buy this book on my Kindle I couldn't really force myself to regret it because I loved the book...though the ending kind of pissed me off. But whatever, it just means there will have to be another book with the same characters in it. No big deal.
Emma had had a semi normal life. She has friends, she's very smart, she has a job...the only thing that makes her different is the fact that she has a man's voice in her head. To top it off he won't let her date without invading her mind once again. When she is hit by a taxi he saves her and tells her that she can free him from his prison. The catch? She has to fly to Mexico and search the jungle for the place where he is held captive. Will she do as he asks? Of course, anything to get rid of the voice in her head.
Guy (that's what she calls him and he likes it so he keeps the name) is the God of War and Death who was tricked and in turn stuck between worlds withing water for over seventy years. The only thing he loves are the conversations he has with Emma. He truly does like her but he knows he can't have her because it would kill her. When she manages to release him from his prison he takes her someplace safe so that can look for the other trapped Gods. He realizes that without her he can't free them so he heads back to find his home destroyed and Emma in the arms of one of the men he charged with protecting her.
She is attracted to Guy and he to her but she grows mad when it seems like he rejects her. She doesn't understand because he doesn't tell her anything. But when he is once again stuck between worlds she goes back to Mexico to try and save him only to find out her one friend (the guard) is a traitor. With Guy's brother now holding her captive (he also happens to be her grandfather but Guy isn't really related to him which is good! phew!) she will either have to become his woman...or die like the rest.
Guy and his sister escape from the trap and with Guy's men at his side they save Emma and try to escape before the men realize what has happened to their master.
Will Emma live? What about the other Gods? Will Guy and she finally be able to consume their love for each other? What's the surprise twist at the end? Well you'll just have to read it and find out! XD
It was quite a shocking end...I think so anyway! Feel free to comment if you feel differently! :D I love a good argument...or challenge!
