How To Train Your Dragon Review

Title: How To Train Your Dragon

Year: 2010

Movie: (How To Train Your Dragon #1)

Time: 1hr 30min

Rating: 5/5

So I've watched this movie more times than I am willing to admit because I love it so much! Honestly I just lost track of how many times I have watched it...Oh well! Have any of you seen this wonderful movie?
Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) is an outcast in his tribe because of all the problems he causes. He has never killed a dragon but he wants to. That is, until the morning he catches a Night Fury which no one believes. He sets out to prove that he has indeed caught the never-before-seen Night Fury. When he does find it he discovers that not only can't he kill it, it didn't kill him either.
His father Stoick (Gerard Butler) leaves to try and find the dragons nest and puts Hiccup in dragon training class. Instead of hurting the dragons in class he uses the techniques he learns from Toothless (Night Fury) who he is helping to fly again. Toothless lost part of his tail when he crashed so Hiccup made him a new one and helps him fly since Toothless can't do it alone.
As he becomes more popular the time approaches for the final test in the class. The killing of a dragon. His father comes back and Astrid (America Ferrera) finds out about the dragon but Hiccup shows her that she shouldn't be afraid. When their trip on Toothless turns into a nightmare they find out where the nest is and what controls the dragons. All of them.
Stoick finds out about Toothless after an unfortunate event and learns that 'the beast' (Toothless) knows how to find the nest. He gathers everyone and they go after the nest but Hiccup isn't about to let his whole tribe be killed by the monster in the nest. He gathers everyone he can get and they go after them.
Will they make it in time? What will happen to the beast that rules the dragons? Who, if anyone, dies? What happens to Hiccup and Toothless?
So since it's a DreamWorks movie you can probably already guess about the ending. I won't ruin it for you though. I love this movie and hope you agree! :D

Jumanji Movie Review

Title: Jumanji

Year: 1995

Time: 1hr 40min

Rating: 5/5

I have watched this movie so many times throughout my life and I must say I never get tired of it. Sure I have watched it too many times but it's a great movie! It used to freak me out but as I grew up I saw that all of it was too hokey to be real.
Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) and Sarah (Bonnie Hunt) started playing a board game in 1969 that they were never able to finish. Allan was sucked into the board game and Sarah was too scared to try to get him out.
26 years later Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter (Bradley Pierce) move in to the old Parrish house after their parents died. The Parrish house has been abandoned for a very long time so their Aunt Nora (Bebe Neuwirth) believes she can turn it into a bed and breakfast (or something). When the two of them find the game from all those years ago they decide to sit down and play it. Little did they know they were in for quite a surprise.
They free Alan from the game and together they find Sarah who is needed to finish the game. Once there is a winner (you see) everything that came out of the game will go away. But before they can finish the game poisonous mosquitoes, angry monkeys, spiders, etc. come out of the game. The worst of them all is Van Pelt (Jonathan Hyde) is a hunter set on killing Alan at all cost. The funny thing is that Van Pelt and Sam Parish (Alan's father) are played by the same man! XD
Will Alan and Sarah be able to finish the game they started so long ago once and for all? Or will the game take over?
I love this movie! I know I've said it a lot in just this one post but it's true! All the actors were fabulous and the story was great. It never had a dull moment! If you haven't seen it I definitely recommend you see this movie!

The Host Movie Review

Title: The Host

Year: 2013

Time: 2hrs 5min

Rating: 5/5

Ohmyfreakinggoodness! I loved this movie so much! I mean it isn't that different than the book (The Host) by Stephanie Meyer so the director did a bang-up job! When I say I loved it I mean I loved it so much I jumped up and down on my bed...I found it on YouTube...XD Muahaha! I hope it doesn't get taken off now but if it does I'm sorry. And sorry I took so long to finally watch and review this movie...
Melanie (Saoirse Ronan) considers herself to be one of the few remaining humans left on Earth after people were taken over by aliens. They may look like people but their eyes are ringed with blue which tells you they are a host. When she gives her life to save her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her boyfriend Jared (Max Irons) she thought she would carry the secret of where they were to her grave. What she didn't expect was to survive and be a host to Wanderer who tries to find out the secret of where the resistance is hiding. Wanderer feels for Melanie and is tricked into running into the arms of the resistance who almost kill her. Only Uncle Jeb (William Hurt) stands up for her.
She begins to earn their trust and she begins to fall for Ian (Jake Abel) much to Melanie's disgust. The Seeker (Diane Kruger) doesn't give up the search for Wanderer though and becomes a threat to the safety of the resistance. Wanda (now called that because of Uncle Jeb) is almost killed, treated like a disease, and beat up but yet she still overcomes and Ian falls for her too. Jamie and Jared also know Melanie is in there so they don't give up hope. When Jamie is hurt Jared has to trust Wanda and they go get the medicine from her kind.
Wanda (after a traumatic experience) loses Melanie so she fights to get her back and teaches the doctor how to extract the Souls from the bodies of humans on a few conditions. One of them is that she is allowed to die. D,:
When her time comes will they allow her to die like she wanted? What will happen to Ian is she dies? Melanie will get Jared and Jamie back so what does Wanda stand to lose except Ian? Are they really as alone as they thought?
So I know I did a horrible job at the description of the movie but hey! At least I can assure you if you love the book you won't absolutely hate the movie. There have been many movies that were so unlike the book I was laughing at how bad they were...*cough Percy Jackson #1 and Eragon cough* hope you like my review and if you do I'm glad...

Star Trek Into Darkness Review

Title: Star Trek Into Darkness

Year: 2013

Time: 2hrs 3min

Rating: 5/5

Loved this movie!!! I mean I didn't actually get to finish it in time for the plane to land but I could guess the ending...I mean that was all I could do till I finished the movie on the next plane ride. This movie was amazing! Sorry to all you who disagree but I loved it more than the first one, which I must say was spectacular. Oh well, they are both great and if you see this movie make sure to watch the first movie before this one.
Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) is at it again! He manages to save Spock (Zachary Quinto) from dying but in the process messes up on the mission. Sadly he is demoted to first officer while Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood) captains the Enterprise. When Pike is killed, along with many other captains, by John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) Kirk goes on a hunt for him with permission from the Starfleet General (Peter Weller). Armed with 72 (?) bombs that are intended for Harrison they take off after him to another planet behind the Klingon lines. (yikes!) When Harrison saves their lives he is taken captive aboard the Enterprise which seems like a good idea at the time. Harrison tells them about what is really going on and who the real threat. The Starfleet General comes to "aid" but then attacks the Enterprise with a ship built to destroy. One that was designed by Harrison himself. With the help of Scotty (Simon Pegg), Harrison and Kirk get on-board the ship and try to take it over. Kirk knows he cannot control or trust Harrison so he comes up with a plan while Spock (without Kirk's knowledge) also comes up with a plan.
Will Harrison indeed turn on them? What will happen to the Enterprise if he does? Will Kirk and Scotty be able to save their ship? Or will Kirk sacrifice himself to save everyone on-board while Spock goes after Harrison? What will happen?
Yay! I was indeed able to finish this movie on the flight back home! I absolutely loved it! This is a must watch! Hope I did a good enough job at describing it but I doubt I did it justice. It really was a great movie!

The Sixth Sense Movie Review

Title: The Sixth Sense

Year: 1999

Time: 1hr 47min

Rating: 4.5/5

I really don't like scary movies! I always picture the monsters (or ghosts) when I am lying down at night. Every noise freaks me out after I watch a scary movie! Even the old movies sometimes freak me out to the point I can't sleep. I have already told you that I am a scaredy cat so this should come as no surprise.
Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) is a child psychologist who was shot in his home by an old patient who he thought was a schizophrenic. To try to make up for it he tries to help Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) a boy who reminds him of the patient who shot him. (The old patient is now dead!)
Cole is a troubled kid who keeps his secret from the world till he meets Malcolm. He feels Malcolm is the only one who can help and understand him so he tries to help Malcolm believe. See Cole sees dead people who make his life a living hell. They hurt and scare him.
Once Malcolm believes he does his best to help Cole overcome his fear. Will Cole be able to move on and see these Spector's? Or will they tear his world apart?
Despite my fear of the things I can't explain I found that I really enjoyed this movie! I never expected the twist till I thought back and saw it was kind of obvious! Such a great twist! I loved it though I'm not saying that I was able to sleep at all for a few nights. Still worth it!

Oblivion Review

Title: Oblivion

Year: 2013

Time: 2hrs 5min

Rating: 4/5

So this movie confused me halfway through (or so) but I sorted it out soon after. It was a good movie but not as good as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, I still love the movie but I wish that I'd watched Star Trek Into Darkness (which I was unable to finish! agh!). Alas, I did enjoy the movies I got to watch. This was the third movie I chose.
After the world was attacked Jack (Tom Cruise) now fixes drones in the year 2077 which protects the machines that are sucking up Earth's natural resources. He and Victoria (Andrea Riseborough) believe that they are doing a good gob and that they are going to Titan (a ship in space which supposedly the human race is surviving on at the moment) in two weeks. That all changes when Jack saves the girl from his dreams from getting blasted by drones like the rest of her crew. Julia (Olga Kurylenko) changes his whole world (and Victoria's) when she tells him that he's her husband. She's been asleep for at least 60 years! What does that mean for Jack and Victoria??
Jack and Julia are taken by the rebels who Jack didn't even know were human. There they begin to learn what is going on with the world and who is really running Titan. Jack is needed to destroy Titan before it is too late for Earth but he learns something about himself that shouldn't even be possible. (sorry no spoilers!) When Titan turns on Jack and Julia they have to decide whether they will fight or stay in their little haven by the lake.
Will the aliens win and suck the world dry of all it's natural resources? Will Jack and Julia help the rebels in destroying Titan? Will they survive?
Ok I can't say too much without giving away a huge plot twist. Sorry... I can guarantee (hopefully)  that you will be surprised though and will enjoy it. I love Olga Kurtlenko who plays Julia! She is fabulous at her role! Do you agree with me?? I think I did an ok job at the review...

The Croods Review

Title: The Croods

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 38min

Rating: 3/5

So this was the second movie I watched on the flight. I must say I was very sleepy and so I unfortunately cried through some parts of the movie. (they were sad! I swear I'm not usually a crier!) It was a weird movie and at first I wondered if I should keep watching it but I managed to since I had nothing else to do. After a while I really got into it though I was still confused at some of the things that went on.
Eep (Emma Stone) is a cavegirl who lives with her father Crug (Nicolas Cage), her mother Ugga (Catherine Keener), her grandmother Gran (Cloris Leachman), her brother Thunk (Clark Duke) and her little monster sister (doesn't speak). She is different than the rest because she is curious and hates living in the cave. One night she goes out (without anyone's knowledge) and meets Guy (Ryan Reynolds) who has managed to create fire. After he disappears her father comes and tries to drag her into the cave till it is destroyed. When the dust clears and they see that beyond their cave is a world they never thought possible. A beautiful world full of color, fun, and unimaginable danger. They meet up with Guy again who saves their lives and takes them on a journey to avoid the end of the world. (well the end of that vast piece of land anyway) On their way they make friends (with animals) and learn to trust Guy which makes Crug very very unhappy. After all he has been protecting them for a very long time.
When the end comes will they be able to make it to safety? Will one be left behind to face the coming dangers? Or will they all make it and continue to chase the sun?
It is a weird movie and some of it you won't be able to understand till you see the movie. After all I can't explain everything to you or else that would ruin the movie! If you have nothing better to do this is your movie, but if not I'd wait to watch it. It really isn't a must watch...Do you agree???

Epic Review

Title: Epic

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 42min

Rating: 4.5/5

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I'm sitting here in Rome, Italy writing a movie review on a movie I saw on the plane! :D Don't worry the other two movies I watched will be reviewed later on in my trip. Gah it was such a long flight to have to deal with a screaming kid. I about lost my mind! Luckily the movies were free and I got to enjoy the movies I missed at the theatres.
Mary Katherine or MK (Amanda Seyfried) goes to live with her father after her mom dies. She hopes her father had changed but he hadn't. He is still searching for highly evolved fast moving little people (like a size of a bee small) and barely takes any notice to her. (tragic) Anyway one night she walks out to the woods where she finds the dying Queen Tara (Beyoncé Knowles) who is one of those tiny people. When MK touches the pod the Queen gives her she is transformed into a miniscule version of herself till she's the same size as them.
So she lets General Ronin (Colin Farrell) and the slug Mub (Aziz Ansari) and snail Grub protect her. On this trip to the all knowing scroll tree she meets Nod (Josh Hutcherson) a very handsome boy who once again joins sides with the Leaf  Men following under Ronin. They take her somewhere safe but the pod is stolen so they have to go into Mandrake's (Cristoph Waltz) territory and get it back. Ronin is caught so it is up to MK, Nod, Mub and Grub to get it back to safety.
Will they succeed and beat Mandrake? Will Mandrake get hold of the pod and spread decay? Who will the new Queen be? Will MK make it back to her world alive?
Ok so I'm writing this post while jetlagged but hey I'm in Rome! Super cool! The only problem is that my mom is dragging me out of the hotel when all I want to do is sleep. This is a great movie and I'm so so glad I got the chance to watch it! Hope you all agree with me!

Red 2 Movie Review

Title: RED 2

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 56min

Rating: 4.5/5

I loved this movie!! I went in expecting a bit more but I still enjoyed myself immensely! All of it is totally unbelievable but hey the Red movies are...I loved all the actors and the writing was splendid for every one of their roles. Let me now try to tell you what the movie is about.
Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) have been targeted yet again but this time it isn't their fault. They were implicated in helping hide a nuclear bomb (or something like that) somewhere around the world (I believe in Moscow). Together along with Frank's girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker) go to Paris and meet one of Frank's old girlfriends (Catherine Zeta-Jones) who is also a Russian spy. Needless to say Sarah is not happy and has no problem making Frank jealous. :D
Then they fly to London where they meet Victoria (Helen Mirren) who is trying to kill all of them because she was hired by MI6. Hans (Lee Byung-hun) has also been hired to kill them by the CIA. Obviously they don't kill Frank, Marvin, or Sarah. That would be awful if they did! O.O
The scientist who created the bomb has been locked away in an institution until Frank and Victoria break him out. They had good intentions when they did so. Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins) is crazy and plans to see the bomb go off much to everyone's surprise.
I found Sarah kind of clingy but I guess that was because she was kind of bored with her life. No excitement...I loved the movie though and know quite a few people who will agree when I say this movie was great! I loved all the actors but I had hoped Karl Urban would be in it yet again. I love him! Sadly I was disappointed... I was happy to have Lee Byung-hun though! So hot! :D Well I hope I didn't spoil anything! Not too much anyway.

World War Z Movie Review

Title: World War Z

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 55min

Rating: 4/5

Ok I'm not a big fan of zombies and after watching this movie I am still not. It is a great movie but I don't care for scary movies either! I'm a scaredy cat....what can I say? I loved the movie but the zombies really freaked me out. Other times I was laughing because the actors would do something incredibly stupid.
Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) is the main character though it does show his wife (Mireille Enos) and his two kids. (Not his real kids. Just so you know.) They escape from Philadelphia where almost everyone is turned into a zombie.
The zombies are super weird and it takes all of 12 seconds for a person who is bitten to change into one. They run super fast though they are not in any way coordinated. They will settle down and wait but if they hear noise they react immediately. Best not to make any noise but of course everyone does.
Garry flies to South Korea and Israel to try to find the cure and/or the origin. In South Korea they are attacked by so many freaking zombies I was about to curl into a ball. I mean how stupid can someone be to make that much noise? Then in Israel they are safe (for a while) since they had built a huge wall to protect themselves but some idiot began singing through a speaker and all hell breaks loose! Who doesn't see that coming?! Really! They are attracted to noise so of course they are going to climb the freaking wall.
Luckily he makes it out of the city on a plane full of people and a female soldier that he saved. Unluckily the stewardess opened something and a zombie popped out! What was wrong with her?! I saw that coming! So stupid! Anyway he makes it to a W.H.O place alive and with the soldier where they begin to find a way for humans to avoid being attacked. (No spoilers!)
Of course at the end of the movie he is reunited with his family and so on. Zombies are loosing the battle while humans remain invisible to them. Yippy.
Ack! This movie was so predictable but it still scared me to the point I was hiding my head. I know that sounds childish but my friend (though not hiding her face with her arms) was occasionally covering her eyes. She's the one who dragged me to it and the one I now owe payback to. If you like scary movies I definitely recommend it! But if you are like me I wouldn't go see it if I were you. It was good but I could've skipped it.

The Lone Ranger Movie Review

Title: The Lone Ranger

Year: 2013

Time: 2hrs 29min

Rating: 3/5

First off I'm sorry I haven't blogged lately! I was reading a book that was the fourth in the series and since I haven't written about the others I decided not to blog about it. I know I usually have a post every other day so forgive me. Now I can get on to the movie review.
I was dying to see this movie and I finally got to see it yesterday. I know it wasn't much of a wait but what can I say...I'm just impatient. I liked this movie. There were extremely funny parts but they came few and far between so I was kind of bored. I hope everyone knows the story of The Lone Ranger. If you don't please watch more TV! I mean who hasn't heard of The Lone Ranger?
Ok so The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) died at the hands of some really crazy men. The leader of their group even eats the heart of The Lone Ranger's brother. Major YUCK! You even get to see him cut it out an eat it so I was feeling pretty ill. (This is just the beginning!) So all the Texas Rangers are dead except for him since he is a Spirit Walker. He can't be killed in battle. Well Tonto (Johnny Depp) helps him find these bad guys who are after the silver. They will do anything for it. Even kill all the Indians. I mean all of them!
So these guys aren't happy about any of this so they fight the bad guys who have Rebecca Reid (Ruth Wilson) and her son. They are the family of his brother and is also the woman he loves. So back to the story! Oh my goodness the animals are sooooooo messed up! I mean you'll have to see the movie to understand. I mean it is so whack!
Needless to say the Lone Ranger saves the day (like always) and could have decided to stay with the woman he loves. Instead he and Tonto decide to go out and kill more bad guys.
Ok so this movie is so bloody and not for young kids. I should've said this before but this whole story is told by Tonto a long time after it happens. The movie was good but there were a lot of slow parts that had me wondering if I could get away with wandering the halls. I doubt I would've missed anything important. I managed to sit through it all and I did like it. So it isn't a must watch but I do recommend it for anyone who loves Johnny Depp. Hope I didn't ruin it for you! I mean it is obvious that he's always going to save the day! Hope you enjoyed my review...!

RED Movie Review

Title: RED

Year: 2010

Time: 1hr 51min

Rating: 5/5

Oh my gosh! I love this movie so much and can't wait till RED 2 comes out next month! Ahhhh! All the actors are magnificent at their roles. It is all very far fetched but it is so dang funny!
Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is a former CIA hit guy who has been ordered killed by (guess who) the CIA. He now has to save Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker) from being killed also. She's the girl who he likes (very much). Together they find Marvin (John Malkovich), Victoria (Helen Mirren), and Jo (Morgan Freeman) who are also on the list to be killed. Well Victoria isn't on the list but she will help them discover who has ordered the hits anyway.
They find out who ordered the hits and go after him. Sooooo funny! The first time I had seen it I was laughing so hard and now I'm still laughing. The actors and actresses in this movie are perfect for the movie and they all play the parts so magnificently.
Oh this is a must watch movie! I love Bruce Willis in everything he does and I hope you all agree with me about my review.

White House Down Movie Review

Title: White House Down

Year: 2013

Time: 2hrs 17min

Rating: 4/5

When I saw this movie preview I thought it looked an awful lot like Olympus Has Fallen. Well I'm not sure if it is since I haven't seen OHF yet. Don't tell me anything! I must say I LOVED White House Down though! When the movie was over I couldn't stop shaking! It was sooooooooo intense!
John Cale (Channing Tatum) is on a protective detail for the Secretary of State (I think) and he goes to the White House to apply for Secret Service Detail. Unlucky for him he didn't make the cut so he and his daughter (who thinks he is now in the Secret Service) go on a tour of the White House. They meet President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) who Emily Cale (Joey King) records him for her Internet Blog. I love this little girl! So smart!
That's when it all goes to hell! Where to begin... Well "terrorist" break into the White House and blow up the Capitol building too! These guys are pros but they never expected Cale to be able to take them on. He and the President hide from the "terrorists" and occasionally take a few out.
I'm saying "terrorists" like this because they are Americans and work with the top guy in the Secret Service who turned on the President. (trying NOT to spoil anything here!)
Needless to say there are quite a few (good looking XD) bad guys and Emily managed to post a video of them on her blog before she got caught. She is SOOOOOO brave! (I wouldn't have let myself get caught though)
Oh my goodness I LOVED this movie! It rocked! So it was very unbelievable! I didn't start picking it apart till after the movie ended. My family and I always pick movie apart when we have time to think about it. Kind of ruins things...it's still a kickass movie though!

Out of Sight Movie Review

Title: Out of Sight

Year: 1998

Time: 2hr 2min

Rating: 3.5/5

Ok I lied...I will be doing quite a few movie reviews when I have the time. XD I figured that movies are occasionally as good as books. Sometimes the movies are much better than books! Like the Lord of the Rings movies are much better than the books...Does anyone disagree?
This movie is a comedy though is does have action and crime in it. It was made in 1998. Some parts of it a REALLY stupid but overall I loved this movie. Mainly I didn't care for Jennifer Lopez who in the movie is dating a married man. I mean why do women do that? Why ruin someone's life like that?
Jack Foley (George Clooney) is a career bank robber who's only fault is he keeps getting caught. He's great at robbing banks (don't get me wrong) but the last few times he's gotten locked up. When he escapes from prison he and a friend steal Karen Sisco's (Jennifer Lopez) car and she just happens to be in the trunk with Jack. HAHAHA! So it all begins!
Karen is a US Marshal who goes after Jack after she escapes. Jack and his partner Buddy Bragg (Ving Rhames) go after diamonds that a rich man has. Richard Ripley (Albert Brooks) was in jail with the two of them and Jack has a grudge against Ripley.
Unfortunately they meet up with another guy (VERY bad guy) that they were in jail with too and all his buddies (REALLY evil guys). It's a race to see who gets to the diamonds first but will it cost Jack his life and future with Karen.
Ok it is kind of a romantic comedy and a bit stupid. I just LOVE George Clooney though! They work well together in this movie though my opinion of Jennifer Lopez isn't as high as it once was (not just because of the movie but because of other things).

Sahara Movie Review

Title: Sahara

Year: 2005

Time: 2hrs 3min

Rating: 4.5/5

This is a great movie that I've watched so many times I know almost all the lines! It is funny but it is serious too! A wonderful combination! It's based on a book by Clive Cussler called Sahara. I haven't read it yet but I hope to read it later on after I read the rest of the series. The movie was released in 2005 and made $68,642,448. To me that's amazing!
Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) and Al Giordino (Steve Zahn) are both men who find underwater treasure. Well Dirk is the one who does. Al is just helps him on the NUMA ship. Dirk saves Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz) from being killed by some men and he takes her upriver to Mali. Dirk and Al are looking for an ironclad that sailed up the river sometime after the Civil War.
She is a doctor with the WHO (World Health Organization) and they are investigating the source of a plague in the region. Some men don't want her to find the source though and are willing to kill her to keep it a secret.
When Dirk, Al, and Rudi (Rainn Wilson) their researcher, get attacked by soldiers who are looking for the doctor they decide to go after her. Dirk and Al save Eva after her colleagues are all killed by General Zateb Kazim (Lennie James) and his men. Together they go after the source and manage to find it. It wasn't what they were expecting at all.
Will they be able to stop the plague from spreading across the whole world? Will they be able to find the ironclad as they do so? Will they be able to make it out of there alive?
Yes I'm good at making things dramatic but it really IS intense! I don't really have a favorite part but I have to say the music is great! It is kind of old music but to me (who's mom made me listen to it as I grew up) the music fits perfectly with the movie. It is so funny and I recommend it for everyone that loves adventure.

Journey 2 the Mysterious Island Movie Review

Title: Journey 2: the Mysterious Island

Year: 2012

Time: 1hr 34min

Rating: 4/5

I have watched this movie so many times and have only just begun to get tired of it! Sure it's a bit silly (ok it's very silly) but it is still a good adventure movie! I know many people don't like Josh Hutcherson (don't understand why) but hopefully you will still be able to enjoy this movie.
Sean (Josh Hutcherson) intercepts a message that he believes is from him grandfather Alexander Anderson (Michael Caine). His stepfather Hank (Dwayne Johnson) helps him crack the code and together they go in search for the Mysterious Island where Alexander is.
Sean and Hank enlist the help of Gabato (Luis Guzman) and Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens) to help them get to the island. When the helicopter is torn apart in the storm they are stuck on the island. Just as they find Alexander all five of them must find a way off the island before it sinks back down to the bottom of the ocean
Some of the writing is bad but the actors do their best with what they have and they do a great job. It is very entertaining though a bit predictable in parts. This movie makes me wish that there was such a place and that I ended up finding it! That's just me though! Hope you agree with my opinion of the movie but I understand if you don't. Everyone views things differently.

How To Steal A Million Movie Review

Title: How to Steal a Million

Year: 1966

Time: 2hrs 7min

Rating: 5/5

I know I usually post about books but I will occasionally post about movies that I enjoy and recommend for everyone else. This is one that slipped through the crack when my mom insisted I watch old movies. I've watched way TOO many old movies! For me an old movie is anything before 1990 because some are so so sooooo bad! This movie was released in 1966! WOW! I was apprehensive about watching it even though it had Audrey Hepburn (my FAVORITE actress!) in it. I have a problem with starting movies unless I've seen them before so it was hard for me to sit down and watch it. Don't ask me why because I don't know...I'm so glad I watched it though! I was laughing almost the whole time!
Nicole (Audrey Hepburn) is the daughter of the art forger Bonnet (Hugh Griffith). Mr. Bonnet is so hilarious and his appearances match what you would expect an good natured old art forger to look like. (Oh I'm stereotyping! Sorry!) When the museum borrows a piece of art (Venus statue), that Nicole's grandfather forged using her grandmother as a model, Nicole worries about them doing tests on it to prove it is authentic. Nicole isn't good at lying...
One night Simon Dermott (Peter O'Toole) breaks into their house to get a sample from a painting to see if it is a forgery. Slight problem to his plan...Nicole ends up accidentally shooting him in the arm. She believes he is a robber and when she sees (thinks she sees) that he is trying to steal a forgery she knows she can't call the police. That would get her father in trouble for forgery!
So she drives him to his place at the Ritz and thinks that is the end of it. Boy is she wrong! Simon is infatuated with her and she can't seem to get rid of him. When she and her father learn that the statue is going to be tested for authenticity Nicole goes to Simon for help. Since she believes he's a burglar she thinks he can help her steal it back! HAHAHA!
Oh the way they go about trying to steal it had me falling out of my chair laughing! I love this movie so much!
Long story short they fall in love. Ahhhhh...Amore! (Gah I hopped I spelled it right!) :O
This movie is so funny! The two of them are so funny together! XD This is one of the best romantic comedies that that I've seen and I recommend it for everyone no matter what age you are!
