Oh dear I guess I forgot to post on this book once I'd finished! So sorry for that! Hmmm...where to begin??? Let me tell you that your idea of what the book is about is wrong. No devil...well not the real devil anyway. Just a few people with powers that are used for bad intentions. Murder, chaos, control, etc. Overall I was surprised and found that I did like this book though and I can't wait to see what happens in the second book!
Violet comes from old money that is now being used up by her parents who are touring Paris while she and her brother Luke stay at home (caring parents aren't they!?). The home is magnificent but is slowly falling to ruin so Vi has to rent out her guesthouse. Echo is a small town so she doesn't really believe anyone will take up on the offer until River West comes to town. Though handsome and obviously wealthy there is something off about him and now that he's in town strange things start happening. Spooky things. The Devil kidnapping a girl (you'll have to read it), a man committing suicide in the middle of the town, the list goes on and on.
Vi is attracted to River but doesn't trust him...not entirely. She meets a little boy named Jack and they grow close (he's about 14 and she's 17 or 18) like siblings and he moves into their house when his father dies. Stranger things start happening in Echo and Vi knows River is causing them though he denies it. He has caused all the trouble so far so why should she believe him now? River's brother Neely comes to town too (he doesn't have any powers which is a disappointment!) and stays in the guesthouse also. Just as Neely is about to drag River back home something happens and it's life or death for Vi. Turns out they (River and Neely) have a half-brother with an enormous amount of power and all the hate in the world.
Will he kill Vi just for fun? Will he use his powers so they all turn on each other? Will River step in and save the day? Or will it be up to Vi to end this?
Quite an interesting book though I believe the romance moved way too fast! I mean what is she thinking when she decides to sleep next to him every night? And kissing him after only hours of knowing each other! Why can't I meet a guy of my dreams? Instead I'm stuck writing reviews on the perfect guy for each girl and writing my own story with my perfect guy. Life is so unfair!

    1. I would love to! It's just that I'm not that into giving people my credit card number online. Or to anyone for that matter. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to unfortunately decline your offer...
