The Space Between Review

Title: The Space Between

Author: Brenna Yovanoff

Pages: 363

Rating: 4/5

I've been dying to get my hands on this book because it sounded good and I loved the cover. I mean the cover is amazing and pretty much sums up what it looks like where she lives. I loved this book though the end was a little weird...Let me fill you in.
Daphne lives in Pandemonium (AKA Hell) with her father (Lucifer), her mother (Lilith), and her sisters. She saves a boy from being tormented for the rest of days by her cousin and he gets to go back to Earth. When her brother Obie vanishes from both Earth and Hell she will set foot on Earth for the first time in her life to try and find him. She finds the boy (Truman) that she saved in hopes that he can help her find her brother since Truman knew him.
Together they find things that trouble them and they find that they have stronger feelings towards each other than when they first met. They find a baby and discover that it is Azrael (the angel of death) and his monstrous beast (Dark Dreadful) are responsible for the deaths of the demons and the nightmares Truman is having. It was obvious so I don't think I'm giving too much away quite yet...The dreams are super cool! You'll see why if you read it!
I know it sounds pretty boring but I really liked it! Of all the books I have read I have never read one where demons can be nice and help someone. This book (though it has a lot of bad demons and angels) has quite a few good ones. I loved this book and though some don't seem to agree with me I hope you do.

The Sixth Sense Movie Review

Title: The Sixth Sense

Year: 1999

Time: 1hr 47min

Rating: 4.5/5

I really don't like scary movies! I always picture the monsters (or ghosts) when I am lying down at night. Every noise freaks me out after I watch a scary movie! Even the old movies sometimes freak me out to the point I can't sleep. I have already told you that I am a scaredy cat so this should come as no surprise.
Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) is a child psychologist who was shot in his home by an old patient who he thought was a schizophrenic. To try to make up for it he tries to help Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) a boy who reminds him of the patient who shot him. (The old patient is now dead!)
Cole is a troubled kid who keeps his secret from the world till he meets Malcolm. He feels Malcolm is the only one who can help and understand him so he tries to help Malcolm believe. See Cole sees dead people who make his life a living hell. They hurt and scare him.
Once Malcolm believes he does his best to help Cole overcome his fear. Will Cole be able to move on and see these Spector's? Or will they tear his world apart?
Despite my fear of the things I can't explain I found that I really enjoyed this movie! I never expected the twist till I thought back and saw it was kind of obvious! Such a great twist! I loved it though I'm not saying that I was able to sleep at all for a few nights. Still worth it!

A Gathering of Gargoyles Review

Title: A Gathering of Gargoyles

Author: Meredith Ann Pierce

Book: (Darkangel Trilogy, #2)

Pages: 284

Rating: 4/5

So I had to order this book since it is kind of old but it was totally worth it. Though the romance was lacking (not unlike the other book) it was still interesting although some of the grammar was off...Anyway I enjoyed the book so let me tell you a little about it.
Aeriel and Irrylath have gone to see his mother (who thought he was dead) and she immediately takes them in knowing that he is, in fact, her son. Too soon Aeriel discovers that he fears her and does not love her as she does so she leaves her new husband on another quest. One to gather all the lost lons together so to face the White Witch and her six sons in the coming battle. The darkangels have chased them from their lands so it will be tough finding them.
On her journey she meets many people who help her but soon she is alone yet again. As she travels she finds a gargoyle. Not intentionally, but since she was the one who freed it he feels that he is indebted to her and continues to protect her from Darkangels. She rescues a servant (Erin) from being slaughtered by a darkangel and together they find two more gargoyles.
They are captured by a man with no name and Aeriel is what he wants. He wants to marry her at all cost. Even if he has to defy the White Witch to get her. She meets a boy who has the same green eyes she does and he believes she is his sister and heir to the land. Ooohhh! They all manage to escape from the man with no name and she is forced to leave them so she can continue to Orm.
She meets Talb and he brings two more of the gargoyles. Now she has five of the six she released and they haven't forgotten her kindness either. Together they all travel to Orm to see an oracle but instead they find Dirna who has the last gargoyle and she tries to kill Aeriel.
Will Talb and the gargoyles rescue her? Will someone else intervene? Or will Dirna succeed in killing her and take the gargoyles back to the White Witch?
I really did like this book though parts were lacking much of anything. The ending had me wanting to read the next book immediately but I needed a break from all the confusing words. Too many made up words without definitions make my eyes cross. XD Still recommend it for anyone who has read the first book because you will enjoy it. I would suggest you wait for my review on the third book before you rush out and buy it though....just saying.

Tyger Tyger Review

Title: Tyger Tyger

Author: Kersten Hamilton

Book: (Goblin Wars, #1)

Pages: 308

Rating: 5/5

This book reminded me a bit of the Iron King books but it was much much better than those. It was a bit slow at first but the action and stuff picked up as the book progressed. Honestly I've only heard of goblins in movies...I don't think I've ever read anything with them in it. Not yet anyway...
Teagan (Tea) went through her life not believing in the stories her dad read or the paintings of goblins that her mom painted. All that mattered was her job working at the zoo and getting good grades. Then her cousin Finn moves in with them and things go downhill quickly. An animal dies at the zoo and Tea is blamed and to top it off both she and her brother (Aiden) are seeing things no one else can see. Well no one except for Finn.
After Finn leaves their mother dies and months later their father goes missing. Finn comes back and helps them find their father only to have him kidnapped by a goblin. Together they must get him back and the only way to do that is by taking Aiden with them. He has the power to make a path in the right direction by singing. When Tea, Aiden and Finn find Josh (Tea's and Aiden's father) they come face to face with the one who keeps him captive. Fear Doirich.
Will they defeat him and save Josh? Will they escape from Mag Mell? Or will he live to haunt them all?
Ok the romance was really lacking but there were quite a few close calls when it came to kissing. XD I loved Aiden! Haha! He was a great character and I loved his role. I am still stuck wondering what Tea's powers are but I figure they will be revealed in the next book. Finn was a great character but why on earth does he feel he needs permission to kiss Tea? Agh! I still enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next book.

Escaping Reality Review

Title: Escaping Reality

Author: Lisa Renee Jones

Book: (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen, #1)

Pages: 212

Rating: 4/5

So very confused by this book at the beginning since I didn't know about the main character's past. It was really weird and I hated...oh I'll tell you later so read on. I liked it though despite everything in the book which for me is strange. That is probably why I liked it. I like being confused sometimes.
Amy has been on the run for about six years. Amy isn't really her name either. She moves around from place to place with the help of her handler whom she's never met. Someone is trying to track her down and maybe even want to kill her and she can't let that happen. After a note she leaves NY to go to Denver where she'll start a new identity yet again. This time as Amy Bensen.
She meets Liam Stone on the plane ride over and there is an immediate connection. Which leads to them having sex in her apartment after only 4-5 hours of knowing each other! How....unladylike is that??? (nicest word I could come up with) So soooooo wrong! So despite everything she's been through she trusts this man (who's also a billionaire) and begins to live with him in a hotel's penthouse suite!
She (when he leaves for a while after he doesn't use a condom...Ahhhh!) begins to look things up in order to find out about her past. The thing is that the fire she knows happened seems to have never existed. Liam comes back and has to take her to a hospital since she fell and sliced her head open in the bathroom (she has flashbacks that knock her out). He seems like the perfect guy and she even begins to fall for him hard until she hears something. Something she's not supposed to hear.
What did he say that would make her panic? Will she go on the run without her handler's help? Why is Liam so interested in her past? Who is Liam Stone and what does he have to do with everything she's going though?
Sadly some of those questions won't get answered till the second book comes out which unfortunately I can't seem to find when it comes out. It was a great book despite of how strange it really was. I really can't wait for the second book!

The Outcasts Review

Title: The Outcasts

Author: Kathleen Kent

Pages: 336

Rating: 2/5

So this book started out good and I looked forward to the whole treasure hunt aspect. Sure it was a bit slow but I held in there hoping for more than what I got out of the book. I had hoped that I would have to write a good review since I won it on goodreads but, alas, I didn't care for it. ): The book will be available on the 24th of September 2013.
Lucinda is a prostitute...or was before she ran away to her lover before heading down for a teaching job in a swamp. She has epilepsy so no one has really cared about her till her lover. But now she has a family who is taking care of her and a class of children who actually like her. She is using them to find information for her lover about hidden gold. She's not finding out too much yet but she is still trying. What will happen to the man who found the gold though?
Nate is Texas police and joins up with two Texas Rangers to try and apprehend a killer named McGill. McGill kills men, women, and children and now he is after gold. The same gold that he sent Lucinda to find. Nate and his partners travel throughout and one of them is killed by a traitorous sheriff (or something like that) while the other dies of cancer soon after. It is up to Nate to continue the mission and find Lucinda and McGill before it's too late.
The gold didn't pan out since it was a lie but now Lucinda is having to work for money to pay McGill for the misfortune of a fools errand. Nate finds them and McGill is about to kill him and Lucinda when Lucinda shoots McGill. Lucinda had a child, a baby (who happens to belong to Dr. Tom one of the Texas Rangers), and it turns out that Nate and his wife were the ones to adopt her. Sweet huh?! But Nate still ends up taking Lucinda to jail where she teaches some of the female prisoners math while Nate went on home to his wife.
That pretty much sums it all up unfortunately! I mean it just went on and on and on! I was dying of boredom by the time I finished and almost shouted for joy when it was over. It was mainly about death, travel, sex, death, guns, and more sex.

I Am Number Four Review

Title: I Am Number Four                      Title: I Am Number Four

Author: Pittacus Lore                           Year: 2011

Book: (Lorien Legacies, #1)                 Movie: 1?

Pages: 440                                             Time: 1hr 50min

Rating: 5/5                                            Rating: 4.5/5

I loved loved LOVED this book! I could hardly put it down and almost finished it in one day but around midnight (despite the action) I started to fall asleep. It had nothing to do with the book since the book was great! The movie was a bit (ok a lot) different than the book but not by a lot like other movies. If they'd just made a few adjustments the movie would've been just like the book. I'm not sure if it would've been better though since I love both the book and the movie quite a bit. I'm just jabbering now so let me get on with the review...XD
John (Number Four) moves around a lot so as to avoid the Mogadorians (they are the ones that destroyed Lorien). See John is from Lorien (a planet far far away) and he along with eighteen other people escaped from Lorien before it was destroyed by the Mogadorians. Now he is the Fourth of Nine powerful Loriens to survive. The first three were killed by Mogadorians who are now after him. He's only fifteen and his world was destroyed ten years ago but he is still being hunted like an animal.
So he and Henri move to Paradise, Ohio in hopes to escape them for a while. Henri is kind of his keeper and makes sure John is safe and to make sure the Mogadorians never catch them. In Paradise John meets Sarah and is immediately drawn to her despite his best efforts to stay away from her. Mark is her ex and insists on trying to prove that he is better for Sarah than John is. Sarah refuses to believe that though. Sam is a alien believer and since his father was in fact taken by aliens (Mogadorians) Henri and John try to figure out how much he knows.
Sam is eventually told what Henri and John are and he is completely fine with that. So everything at school is going great until the Mogadorians find John and trap him in the school with Sarah. Somehow Henri, Mark, and Bernie Kosar (the dog :D) get into the school along with Number Six. Six tries to help them get out but it is up to everyone to help her defeat the hundreds of Mogadorians outside. This is where it gets really exciting so I won't say any more!
This book rocks and I'm so happy I got it! It was totally worth it and I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series! I definitely recommend this book (even if it is from a guys point of view) for everyone. You won't regret it! Well hopefully you won't...XD
