Happy Christmas Eve! Woohoo! Sorry, I'm in a happy mood despite the fact that I have to work tonight! At least I don't have to work tomorrow! WOOPWOOP! Sorry, let me get on with the review...I'm not into the whole time travel thing but I really liked this book. It was a bit odd because time travel always leaves me confused but I hung in there till the very end and I'm glad I did.
Em and Finn have been locked in a secret military base where they are tortured for information. One day Em decides to find out what is in the drain that haunts her every day. What she finds is a list. A list of things she has done in the past to try and prevent the time machine being invented. The only thing is that she went back in time with Finn to do so and they have failed every single time. The only thing left on the list is to kill the doctor. The very man who started it all.
Marina, James, and Finn were all friends on the night that James's brother was shot. After that night though James would never be the same. With the future changing because of the things Em and Finn are doing, things are being discovered for the first time. Like who really killed James's brother and why.
While James, Marina, and Finn look for answers a more sinister force is happening. Marina has been in love with James since they'd met but he'd never seen her as anything other than a sister until the night he meets Em and Finn. The future version of Marina and Finn. Everything changes in that one second of time. Will it change the future? No, not yet.
The doctor shows up before Finn and Em can kill James and end the doctor's rule. The doctor (future version of James) is an evil man who threatens to kill the younger versions of Finn and Em before they can kill him.
Will they young James let the new him kill Marina and his best friend? Will Finn and Em complete their mission and save the world from destruction? Who will live? Who will die? What future is there left?
I love the ending so much! I didn't expect it and I even cried when one of the characters died because I thought...oh well I'm not going to spoil anything for you. You'll just have to read it.
